Latino Academy

Latino Academy: WCVI partners with its sister organization in hosting the Latino Academy, a training space for youth leaders, community organizers, candidates and elected officials. The Latino Academy is a training boot camp for Latino candidates running for office, organizers, and discussion on public policy strategy for elected officials.

As part of the Latino Academy, WCVI launched the SoCal Latino/a Mayor's Policy Seminar. Since 2016 WCVI has held four in-depth policy seminars for an emerging consortium of Latino Mayors on issues of housing, development, water, and marijuana. Ten cities have come together for these events which averaged 50 electeds and staff.
