Latin@ Academy on Policy and Governance for Newly Elected Officials, Dec 1, 2018

WCVI will sponsor a day-long training at the Commerce Casino/Windham-Commerce that focuses on municipal and school board members recently elected in the Nov. 2018 elections from single-member districts created thru legal actions under the California Voting Rights Act.

Thru the efforts of SVREP and the law firm of Shenkman Hughes, as well as MALDEF and the California Civil Rights Project hundreds of California local suburban and exurban jurisdictions are electing minority-supported candidates for the first time from single member districts.

As a result hundreds of new minority/Latino local elected will be in need of training. Thus the special training Academy by WCVI.
